snow ,snow

I got sammy with a snow ball right on the head! It was really a perfect shot...we had fun throwing snowballs until our hands got cold!

Sammy discovered how cold snow is. That is the first time he has ever gotten upset about cold, we are usually worried that he is freezing and it doesn't even phase him.
Zack thought it was really neat. It only lasted a few hours in the morning, but they did get to experience some snow. And throwing snowballs!

That's what we nicknames Nate after he got a virus that caused a rash. He was a happy guy but just speckled!

Nate's 6 month appt

Nate lost weight for his six month weigh in--15.4lbs-he lost 1/2 lb. But grew 1/2 in so he is 25 inches and his head circumference was 1 cm larger.
I had said earlier that I thought he couldn't have gained very much weight. The doc wasn't really worried and didn't seem to think it was anything other than the fact that he was more active now. He is still a roly-poly little guy with lots of rolls! And he was doing all the things he should be at his age- Sammy and Zack started crawling at 6 months but-I'm happy for him to enjoy sitting.
He continues to be easy. He goes to bed well, night time sleep has been improving the last 2 nights he has slept from 7:30 pm to 4:30am, he has woken up each night at 11:30 and Tim gives him a pacifier and then he goes back to sleep. So, things are definitely going well.

He has really become much more playful. loves to be tickled, likes to chew on anything he can grab, grabs everything in his reach, and has started eating baby food.

It's hard to believe that our little baby is already 6 months! And I'll have two birthday boys turn 5 and 3 in March!

Plumbing

Nate went for his 6 month checks yesterday. The pediatrician we use is about 35 min from here. Tim usually goes along since he enjoys talking to the doctor and getting his own concerns answered. (Like, can you tell if he is double-jointed in his thumbs like his brothers, etc..) I love for the two of us to go together, but today was different.

We have been having problems with old copper pipes. The hot water pipes have been getting small cracks and therefore the hot water is turned off until Tim fixes them temporarily. We came home from a weekend trip to my moms and Tim went cross country with a student, to yet another leak! So Tim decided that it was the day to replace all the hot water pipes... we did get our showers in before all the water was turned off. He went in to work and saw the doc about his sore knee and came home to start the project. His plan was to have the pipes replaced before Nate's appt. As the time got close he was a bout 1/2 finished with the job, so I took Nate to his appt and Mary Katherine watched the boys while Tim worked.

At about 10pm last night he completed the job! Although, he decided that we would turn the hot water off last night so we could sleep (We kept hearing noises that would indicate that there was a leak:). When he got up at 5am, he turned the hot water on and we've not had any issues!

Christmas pageant

Nate's second Christmas pageant for our Church and did an incredible job...well, Mary did a great job! It was a very special pageant. Nate was so intrigued with all the animals, music and angles that glittered. He was especially cute as his bald head reflected the light giving him a glowing look and he'd try to peak over the cradle to look at people and animals around him.

Christmas pictures

Santa came to daddy's work in a T-6. The boys were pretty impressed with his plane!

three funny men

Zack is now trying to figure out ways that he will be able to do things he wants and acknowledges that he has to share with Sammy.
Like when we went to get the Christmas tree. Zack wanted to ride with Tim in the truck(only one can ride at a time) So Zack proudly announces:
I know what we need to do. How about if I ride in the truck to Lowes and Sammy rides in the truck home. How about that? Tim and I were shocked! We told him it would be a great idea. Sammy had a hard time comprehending that his turn would be here and he would get to bring the tree home. Sammy was pretty upset until he got buckled up in the truck for the trip home.

Christmas Pageant

Nate's first acting... well, I'm not sure if acting is the correct word-- but his first appearance in the church's Christmas pageant. He didn't even fuss.

Our Christmas tree

Who needs a mobile to lull you to sleep, when you have a Christmas tree!

Samuel Lee

It's so sweet to hear Sammy say his full name. He really knows how to "eat" a sandwich. I cannot believe the crumbs/messes they make!

Roll over

No not a command to the dog...

Nate rolled over last night for the first, second and third time and has been showing off for the boys today. I think he loves his cheering section, the boys are great at oohing and ahhing! and Zack was excited to flip him back over so he could do it again! :-)

spouse taxi

Tim got to taxi me and go down the runway at full speed but was not allowed to take off! It was alot of fun and we had a good time. I got to feel how uncomfortable it is to have all those straps/cords/connectors etc. strapped onto your body-especially the oxygen mask. A funny that happened is that Tim gave me his gloves after I was all strapped in I decided to fianally put them on. As I did, my camera fell. Mind you, I'm strapped in,he is strapped in, the prop is turning, the canopy is down and we were ready to go. So, I let Tim know I dropped the camera. He tells me how I can unstrap the opposite side harness to lean over to get it... I couldn't reach it. Then I took the other latch off so my upper body is able to lean over..still I cannot reach it. I tried and tried, so He had to shut down, open the canopy and ask the crew chief- a large guy- to see if he could get it. He leaned over and tried to fish it out. He finally got it..after being mortified.. we were able to do our taxi and I was able to get some pictures.(There is a pict of our crew chief and one to show you how tight the cockpit is-not much room for "fishing" if you drop something.)

We had to go through seat training(in case of fire and we had to be use the ejection seat). Another reason that it takes so long to get strapped into the seat, is your sitting on a huge rocket. And need to make sure everything is secure.
